IT Cover Letter Examples

Whenever you apply for a position online, through the newspaper, internally submit or even as a referral from a colleague, you should provide a cover letter along with the resume. The key to writing a quality technical cover letters is making sure to provide enough detai, but not too much.

If possible you want to address the cover letter to a specfic individual, usually the hiring manager if that's known. If you do not know the hiring manager, then address it to "Dear Hiring Manager." Otherwise, after the heading and greeting you can begin putting together the cover letter which includes three areas: the summary; the body; and the closing.

The summary should clearly explain the job that you are applying for and what experience you possess that makes you qualified for the position. The body of IT cover letter should be one or two paragraphs that should include examples of this experience and if possible use achievements to back up those examples.
